Situated in the heart of the Great Karoo, between Graaff-Reinet and Nieu-Bethesda lies the magnificent Sneeuberg Private Nature Reserve. It stretches 14,500 hectares and is home to Nguni cattle ranch and a variety of antelope species. Sneeuberg Private Nature Reserves gives every visitor that authentic, yet luxurious karoo experience.
The Sneeuberg Private Nature Reserve boasts a rich history and the story started when Derk Blaise and Charlotte Daneel purchased Skilderkrans and Coetzeefontein which at that stage only had an old, partly stone, partly brick ruin. This ruin was used by the inhabitant sheep as a shelter from mother nature. They had a vision of creating something unique and decided to do some renovations. All the accommodation areas were given unique names; Poplars Farmhouse, Karoo Cottage, Kliphuis, and Gordonville.
Sneeuberg does not have predators, and the decision was taken for all the visitors to safely enjoy the Nature Reserve and truly be close to nature in the Karoo.
